Flavio Malnati is a Lecturer and Researcher at the Bratislava University of Economics and Business, working in long-run development and economic history. He is a graduate of CERGE-EI in Prague, where he earned his Ph.D. in Economics in 2026 and his M.A. in Economics in 2020. He also worked as a Junior Researcher at the Economics Institute (EI) from 2023 to 2025, and spent time as a visiting PhD student at Northwestern University.

As a lecturer, he has taught within CERGE-EI's Teaching Fellows and Distance Learning programs. He earlier earned an M.Sc. in Public Management from Bocconi University in Milan and studied Diplomacy at ISPI. Before entering academia, he worked at IBM's International Services Center in Bratislava.
